While the Bell-Whitley Community Action Agency seeks to help those in both counties, funds for this program are only available in Whitley County. These funds may be used to assist individuals, meeting all guidelines, with one month's rent or utility payment to provide one month's service. Emergency Food and Shelter Funds may not be used for late fees, deposits and service charges.

The consumer must complete an application to verify eligibility. Each situation is treated separately, and may indicate different information being needed to document the need.

The information that is necessary to verify eligibility includes proof of income for all household members for the previous month, Social Security cards for each household member, your most recent utility bill (electric, gas, etc.), and a letter from your landlord (if renting) that states all needed information.

For more information on the LIHEAP Program contact us at 606-337-3044 or 606-549-3933 or stop by your nearest Bell-Whitley office.
