Community Service Block Grants Emergency Funds are available in order to assist households in emergency situations. Some examples of emergencies include the loss of your home from fire, being homeless, etc., with certain expenses. The consumer must complete an application to verify eligibility.
The applications can be obtained at the Bell-Whitley office nearest you.

Information needed to complete the application includes the following: proof of income for all household members in order to document eligibility, a Fire Report if your home has burned, or a referral letter from another Agency (for example, the Salvation Army), Social Security cards for all household members, a letter from the utility company (on company letterhead) if assisting with utilities, and a letter from your landlord stating monthly rent (if you are renting). This letter must include the landlord’s name, telephone number, address, social security number and any other pertinent information.
